How do you know it is Friday? Because you are reading the B&H Gear Roundup! This week in the news: DJI launched the 4K-capable Inspire 1 Quadcopter; Canon announced the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens; and JVC debuted a new line of 4K video cameras with three different offerings to satisfy the needs of hobbyists and pros.
DJI Inspire 1 Quadcopter
Before I begin, I’d like to offer huge congratulations to the ESA and its partners for landing the Philae spacecraft on the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimeko this week. Absolutely amazing!
The new DJI Inspire 1 Quadcopter might not be able to land on a comet, but it looks like it can do just about anything else.

DJI has been at the forefront of the quadcopter market since the introduction of the Phantom 1, and the new Inspire 1 is a culmination of all it has learned while developing very capable and remarkable vehicles for use as photographic platforms and more.
Is that an aftermarket camera hanging from the copter's belly? Nope. It is a three-axis gimbaled, 360-degree pan-able, 4K-capable camera system. 360 degrees you say? Won't the landing gear ruin my stabilized 4K movies? Nope. Retractable gear.
Check out our take on the exciting new quadcopter in this B&H announcement.
Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM
You might have seen some Internet leaks about this lens, but it is officially revealed now. The newest version of the versatile zoom, the Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM is waiting to be attached to the front of your camera.

Updates to the legacy lens, introduced in 1998, include a zoom ring, versus the older push-pull system, upgraded image stabilization, and an additional aperture blade.
The original version is still for sale here at B&H if you are one of those photographers who likes the speed of a push-pull zoom.
See the specs and more details about the features of the new lens inside this B&H announcement.
