Nikon has just released the Nikon COOLPIX W150—an update to its entry-level family-summertime-fun digital waterproof COOLPIX W100 camera. The COOLPIX W150 camera is the perfect companion for trips to the beach or the pool with its rugged specs—waterproof to 33', shockproof from drops up to 6', dustproof, and freezeproof (hopefully not needed in the summer!).
Inside the camera is a 13MP 1/3.1" CMOS sensor for capturing images shining through its 3x optical zoom 30-90mm equivalent lens. The camera captures Full HD 1080p videos and has a 2.7" 230k-dot rear LCD screen. For instant sharing, the camera has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
A hallmark of this camera is its ease of use—perfect for youngsters or the technically challenged. Like its predecessor, there aren’t a lot of buttons and settings to figure out on the COOLPIX W150, and Nikon has streamlined the menu interface to make it even more simple as well as upped the fun factor with a “Fun Variety Menu” that features new interactive features including Underwater Face Framing mode that takes up to four photos every time a face passes before the lens. There is a new picture-in-picture scene mode and also new editing functions for adding frames, a “little planet” mode, and “curve” pictures.
