The ultimate piece of support equipment is something that is lightweight and strong. Usually impossible to get both in a single package, Manfrotto’s Nano series has always come close, and now they are made even better. The 5002BL Nano Plus Stand and MS0490C Carbon Fiber Nanopole Stand are now the company’s strongest and lightest stands yet, respectively. Along with these, standard, are a couple of accessories to complete the kit, including a 1/4" Anti-Slip Adapter, 244 Micro Arm with Adapters, a 3/8" ARRI-Style Anti-Rotation Adapter, and a Cold Shoe Tilt Head.
Headlining the release is the Carbon Nanopole Stand, since it uses an aluminum base and carbon fiber column to cut weight down to just 1.65 lb. It’ll hold up to 3.3 lb, making it ideal for speedlights and LED lights. Being lightweight isn’t everything, as the Carbon Nanopole Stand features a reverse leg design that folds down to just 20" for easy carry. There is a leveling leg to ensure more stable footing when shooting on location. Fans of the original Nano Stand who were just looking for a bit more load capacity should check out the Nano Plus Stand. This upgraded model still folds down to just 20", but can now hold up to 8.8 lb with ease. It also has a leveling leg for uneven terrain.
