The day has finally come for Canon to lift the covers on its latest flagship camera: the EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR. It is still in the early days for this upcoming release, and this development announcement is simply to give us all a sneak peek at the latest and greatest coming from Canon’s engineers. The camera will, of course, maintain its core design and audience of professional photographers, but it is packed with upgrades.
A great deal is still unknown about the 1D X Mark III, though Canon was kind enough to share a few key details. There is a next-generation image sensor and processor in the camera, and the 1D X Mark III can now reach continuous shooting speeds of up to 16 fps with the optical viewfinder or 20 fps in live view.
To maintain these speeds, the camera now offers communication systems with much-improved speeds and dual CFexpress card slots. Also, for video shooters, you will be pleased to learn the camera will record video in up to 4K at 60 fps in 10-bit, giving it a seriously impressive set of skills for all types of professional users.
