Announcing 3 Legged Thing's all-new series of tripods! Say hello to the Legends collection. Billed as the “best of the best,” the new Legends range adds two new premium tripods to 3 Legged Thing’s already prestigious portfolio.
The first of the Legends is the Ray. Weighing less than three pounds and folding down to 14", Ray is an ultra-compact travel tripod. Even more impressive than its travel-friendly design is that, despite its slender dimensions, Ray can extend to 77" and support payloads up to 66 lb! On top of power and portability, Ray is also quite versatile. You can use it as a reliable tripod or remove its three detachable legs for tabletop and low-level setups. Additionally, it can be used as a monopod or a boom. Ray is also very accessible and easy to use, thanks to its Rapid Latch angle adjustment system and newly designed O-Pads, which give it better overall grip and more torque.
Joining Ray in the Legends lineup is the Bucky tripod. The seventh iteration of 3 Legged Thing’s lauded 5-leg section, 3-column section travel tripod design, Bucky is the most versatile and functional travel tripod 3 Legged Thing has ever designed. It folds down to 4.65", extends to 77", and weighs 3.24 lb with a 20:1 maximum load weight ratio. Additionally, it has many of the same premium features as the Ray, including its detachable legs and modular design, its Rapid Latch angle adjustment system, and O-Pads.
Both tripods are available as stand-alone units or as part of a kit. As a kit, the tripods come with the all-new AirHed VU ball head. This latest ball head is made of aerospace magnesium and stainless steel. Its design is reminiscent of 3 Legged Thing’s popular AirHed Switch ball head, and features a maximum load capability of 66 lb.
You can buy either or both of the Legends tripods in bronze or gray configurations. Additionally, each is available as a stand-alone tripod or as a custom kit.
