Nikon has revealed that its first flagship Z-mount camera is currently in the works: the Z 9 full-frame mirrorless camera. Designed with hybrid photo and video creators in mind, the Z 9 will incorporate Nikon’s most advanced technologies for both still and video recording and is slated for release later this year.
While tight-lipped about most of the exact specifications of the new camera, we do know that the Z 9 will feature an all-new FX-format stacked CMOS sensor, as well as a redesigned image-processing engine, ensuring high-quality capture and recording when paired with Nikon’s growing collection of Z-mount lenses. The Z 9 will also be capable of 8K video recording and a host of other advanced video features, promising to be Nikon’s most versatile camera for content creators to date.
The Z 9 is scheduled for release in 2021. Further information will be announced as it becomes available.
