Tamron has upgraded their longstanding all-in-one zoom line with the addition of the APS-C-dedicated 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC for Nikon and Canon, and the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II Lens for Sony A. Offering a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 27-300mm on Nikon and Sony, and 28.8-320mm on Canon cameras, the lens’s wide-to-telephoto range makes it capable of shooting a variety of situations from large group shots to distant wildlife. Fast, quiet, and precise autofocus is achieved with the implementation of a newly designed AF drive module and DC motor.

The Vibration Compensation image stabilization in the Nikon and Canon versions helps to reduce the appearance of camera shake in your images, and is a valuable feature when shooting at the telephoto side of the lens. The Sony A-mount version removed the VC from the lens and relies on Sony cameras' in-body image stabilization. The weight of the lens is just 14.1 oz, making it very lightweight for its focal length range, and ideal for travel or walk-around shooting. The moisture-resistant lens is constructed from 16 elements in 14 groups, including one LD element and one hybrid aspherical element to help reduce aberrations and distortions, and a seven-blade rounded diaphragm provides pleasing out-of-focus areas for shallow depth of field shooting.
