Leica has been known for making cameras that blend form and function perfectly, so for users looking for a more fashionable sidekick, the company has released its compact D-LUX (Typ 109) point-and-shoot in a solid gray lacquered housing with a silver lens and buttons. Alongside the camera is a suite of matching accessories, including a silver CF D Flash and a gray leather neck strap.

The Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) Digital Camera makes a statement with a large 12.8MP 4/3" MOS sensor, capable of sensitivities up to ISO 25600, and a 24-75mm equivalent f/1.7-2.8 Leica DC Vario-Summilux ASPH. lens. This combination provides the D-LUX with the ability to perform in low-light conditions and have excellent control over depth of field using any of the manual shooting options. Along with stills, the camera manages to squeeze in UHD 4K video recording at 30p or 24p, which are saved as MP4 files. Composing images is made easy with the integration of both a 2,764k-dot electronic viewfinder and a 3.0" 921k-dot rear LCD screen. Additionally, the D-LUX (Typ 109) can work with high-speed UHS-I DSXC memory cards and features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC for connecting directly to a smartphone or tablet.
