Having already achieved the utmost in optical notoriety, Leica is re-releasing a trio of its most prized wide-angle M-mount lenses: the Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH, the Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH, and the Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH. with refined, newly developed included accessories. Each of the three new lenses is now delivered with an all-metal rectangular lens hood, which attaches to the specific lens via a front thread mount, as well as a threaded protection ring for the front of the lens when the hood is not in use. The German-made lenses are also delivered with metal lens caps to complete the premium aesthetic embodied by the Leica company.
The lenses retain the same capabilities of the previous versions, including the Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH's penchant for being a compact, flexible, standard wide with notable image sharpness and distinctly smooth quality. The slightly wider Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH shares the renowned Summicron appearance, along with a bright maximum aperture for working in challenging lighting conditions. Rounding out the trio of new lenses is the Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH, which is the most compact lens in the M lineup.
