A tripods is a solid, stable accessory in the photography world, one that very rarely sees significant change, but the new line of Splat flexible tripods from miggo have redefined the tripod in an innovative way. The Splat is more like a flexible support designed to take a number of shapes in order to suit the needs of the photographer and the situation. Need to wrap it around a tree? Done. How about bicycle handlebars? Done. Your wrist? Done. The Splat’s one-piece bendable body allows for quick and easy alterations to fit a variety of surfaces on the fly.
Each one of the three Splat models is constructed of a flexible metal core and coated with non-slip silicon, which wraps lightly and prevents unwanted movement. Each model is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry in a bag along with your favorite camera and accessories. There are currently three versions available: the Splat SLR for DSLR users with gear weighing up to a maximum of 2.6 lb; the Splat CSC for mirrorless camera users with cameras up to 1.1 lb; and a Splat GOP, designed specifically for the ever popular GoPro action cameras. It’s important to note that no matter which model you choose, miggo’s forward-thinking design team have used a 1/4"-20 mounting thread on each model—even the Splat GOP, ensuring compatibility with future camera models and mounting accessories.
