A constant f/2.8 telephoto zoom for Micro Four Thirds shooters, this 80-300mm equivalent lens maintains fast performance and precise focus control throughout the long-reaching zoom range. Its optical design incorporates a variety of low dispersion and specialized elements to heighten image quality and sharpness, as well as reduce the overall form factor and weight. One aspherical ED, two aspherical, one HD, one SED, and three ED elements all combine to limit chromatic aberrations and distortions and ensure clarity and color accuracy. Furthermore, ZERO coatings have been applied to the optics to reduce ghosting and flare.

Complementing the optical design, the lens also houses an apt focusing system that employs a unique Dual-VCM (Voice Coil Motor) mechanism to enhance focusing speeds and accuracy, while reducing noise and friction during use. Eleven separate seals are also incorporated into the lens to render it dust- and moisture resistant, and at less than two pounds and measuring 6.2" long, the lens feels at home on compact mirrorless bodies. A rotatable tripod collar is included with the lens, as well as a dedicated retractable lens hood.

To further extend the reach of this professional-grade telephoto zoom, the MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter can be attached to increase the equivalent focal length range to 112-420mm, with a one-stop loss of light. The teleconverter's design matches the lens's weatherproof construction, and it maintains full communication between the camera and lens. Besides compatibility with the 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens, this teleconverter can also be used with the M.ZUIKO ED 300mm f/4 PRO lens.
