With the proliferation of high-quality LED technology, companies have been looking to further innovate to fill the many niches of photography and video fields, Intellytech is among these innovators with the capable and modular Light Stix System, which is now in stock at B&H. These tubular panels can fit into spaces other lights can’t quite reach, and multiple Stix can be used to create more conventional yoke-mounted soft lights.

The standard option is a Light Stix 1 Unit Kit, which features a 24-inch-long device with color temperature options of 3200K, 5000K, 5600K, and 8000K so you can dial-in your settings with ease. It also comes equipped with a built-in Li-ion battery for about 90 minutes of full-power operation. It does come with an AC adapter and has dimming controls from 10-100%. A major advantage of this fixture is built-in A, B, and C wireless channels, permitting a single unit to act as a master to control on/off, color, and dimming of multiple lights. This can easily be upgraded with a yoke for up to four Light Stix, a tilter bracket with spigot for mounting a single light on a stand, or a handle extension for handheld use. You can pick up the Light Stix in 2-light and 4-light configurations, with a yoke, for more standard setups.

A 20-inch Light Stix Mini is available, along with the standard model, which offers almost all of the advantages of the larger model but in a more compact size. Also, a critical difference is the use of L-series NP-F Li-ion batteries so users can easily integrate them into existing lighting kits that use similar batteries.
