Pixels After Dark: Shooting the Night

Jeff Cable is a three-time world athletic games photographer, but he doesn't specialize in shooting just sports. One of his favorite things to do is to shoot images at night! Night images will make you stand out from the crowd and Cable will tell you how to shoot post-sunset shots correctly, when most people can't. Cable had just returned from the London Games, where he shot photos for Team USA, but he still made sure to take time away from the Games to shoot images of London at night.

He visited the B&H Event Space to share tips and techniques for taking the best night photos and, in this video, gives guidance on camera settings, composite suggestions, editing techniques, best shooting times, and more. Regardless of whether you are using a DSLR or a point-and-shoot camera, Cable has some great ideas about taking images that will wow your friends and family. See some of his favorite night images and learn the best settings for your camera, the best equipment choices, and the best compositions to get some real winning shots. Cable is one of our most popular speakers at B&H, and makes sure that his presentations are full of useful information—and are really fun, as well. We hope you enjoy the video, and invite you to view the wide selection of other instructional and informative videos at BandH.com.
