Cut cords in your flash setup with Sony’s newly developed 2.4 GHz radio triggering system, which comprises an advanced FA-WRC1M Wireless Radio Commander and the FA-WRR1 Wireless Radio Receiver. Using this newly available system, photographers will be able to transform their existing flashes easily into radio-capable units, which can be triggered from up to 98.4'. Currently the Commander unit is compatible with the a7 II, a7R II, and a7S II mirrorless cameras and mounts via the Multi Interface Shoe where it offers complete functionality, including TTL, High-Speed sync, and advanced control options.
Using a 2.4 GHz radio signal, users can trigger up to 15 receivers within the 98.4' range without needing perfect line of sight. It also can be set up to work within one of 14 channels to minimize interference from other nearby systems. The system even has access to 5 groups, so users can have more precise control over different flashes in their setup. Full manual control is possible through the Commander, including setting the power from 1/1 to 1/256 output via the LCD screen. Additionally, users of monolights or other types of flashes can connect via a standard PC sync socket located on the Receiver.
An added feature of this system is wireless camera triggering via the VMC-MM1 Multi Terminal Cable. This cable lets you connect a receiver to an a7 II, a7R II, or a7S II to trigger the shutter release for remote camera setups. The Commander and Receiver are dust- and moisture resistant to facilitate use in inclement weather.
