Canon DSLRs and mirrorless cameras have become just as well known for their video prowess as their stills skills, so it should come as no surprise that the company has unveiled some Video Creator Kits for the recently announced EOS T7i DSLR and EOS M6 Mirrorless Cameras. These kits are designed to get users shooting almost right away, and include standard kit zoom lenses, an 18-55mm for the T7i and a 15-45mm for the M6, which offer coverage for some of the most commonly used focal lengths. On top of this, the kits pack in a RØDE VideoMic GO on-camera microphone for capturing cleaner audio and a 32GB SDHC memory card for storage.
The cameras themselves are very capable tools for video, especially because both feature Dual Pixel CMOS AF, a relatively new addition to these two camera lines. This works well with the tilting touchscreen LCDs present on the M6 and T7i to provide a clear, intuitive method for capturing high-quality video. Both models can also record Full HD video at up to 60 fps and use a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor with the DIGIC 7 processor to capture crisp, clean stills and video at up to ISO 25600. Easily attach the included RØDE mic to the audio input and slide it into the hot shoe for a quick and effective setup that is ready for anyone to get started.
