Just in time for summer, Ricoh has upgraded its tough camera to the WG-50, which is now waterproof to 46' and shockproof from 5.25' while remaining freezeproof to 14°F and crushproof to 220 lbf. This rugged design makes it an ideal companion, whether you are vacationing at the beach or going on a treacherous climb up an icy mountain. Also, for those constantly finding themselves out in the sun, a new Outdoor View Setting mode will boost the brightness of the 2.7" 230k-dot LCD, making it easier to view in bright sunlight.

In terms of imaging, the WG-50 retains many of the qualities of its predecessor, including versatile 28-140mm equivalent f/3.5-5.5 zoom lens and a 16MP 1/2.3" CMOS sensor. The camera is also equipped with a ring of LED lights around the lens that will provide even illumination when using the camera’s extreme macro mode for focusing down to 0.4".

On top of this, the WG-50 offers multiple Shake Reduction techniques to combat motion blur, and it has a fast 9-point AF system, which offers face detection and pet detection, as well. Other features of this model include Full HD 1920 x 1080 video recording and a sensitivity range from ISO 125-6400. The camera supports Eye-Fi cards for wireless transfers and is compatible with remote controls.

The WG-50 Digital Camera will be available in black or orange.
