Owners of Micro Four Thirds-mount cameras now have an additional selection of MFT lenses to choose from, with the release of Kowa’s PROMINAR MFT series. Available in focal lengths of 8.5, 12, and 25mm, each in your choice of black, silver, or green, these sleek and compact lenses are made in Japan and feature multi-coated, extra-low dispersion glass, a 9-blade circular iris, an aluminum body, and a dual-link iris that lets you switch between silent and click-stop aperture adjustment.
The 8.5mm model is a super-wide-angle lens with an f/2.8 and T3.0 max aperture and T-stop, 17 lens elements in 14 groups, and 7.9" minimum focusing distance. The 12mm model offers an f/1.8 and T1.9 max aperture and T-stop, and has 12 elements in 10 groups and a 7.9" minimum focusing distance. The 25mm model is a standard focal length lens, featuring an f/1.8 and T1.9 aperture and T-stop, 8 elements in 8 groups, and a 9.8" minimum focusing distance.
All three are manual focus lenses and have a consistent 86mm filter thread, and draw on more than 60 years of Kowa’s optical experience.
