Sigma came to photokina 2018 with a massive bag of new lenses, five in total. Already offering an impressive set of lenses for its Global Vision lineups, this announcement seems to be filling in some small gaps and launching some unique lenses. Today, the list of new lenses includes the 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports, 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports, 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, 40mm f/1.4 DG HSM, 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM.

Telephoto zooms are the perfect choice for sports shooters, and is the reason both full-frame zooms are labeled with Sigma’s premium Sports branding. The most anticipated lens in the bunch must be the 70-200mm f/2.8, because it is a classic and ultra-popular range that pros desire. Ten low-dispersion glass elements ensure this lens will deliver outstanding image quality and an optical stabilizer will greatly assist with handheld shooting. Also joining the Sports line is the 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3, a more distinct option that will cover a wider range of scenarios with ease. Both will be available for Sigma, Nikon F, and Canon EF-mount cameras.

Small but powerful, the Contemporary line will now include a 56mm f/1.4 for Micro Four Thirds and APS-C Sony E-mount cameras. This will provide shooters with a fast and short telephoto option and helps complete an existing trio of fast primes, including the existing 30mm and 16mm options.

Finally, a pair of full-frame Art primes are being released and further completing the series. These are a 28mm f/1.4 and a 40mm f/1.4. They will of course have the image quality we have come to expect from the Art series and will be available for Sigma, Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony E-mount cameras.
