Rokinon’s AF selection for Sony shooters continues to grow with the addition of the AF 85mm f/1.4 Lens. Designed with portrait shooters in mind, its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture allows for use in a wide range of lighting conditions while providing smooth, circular, crowd-pleasing bokeh. Precise, selective autofocusing powered by two quiet but quick Linear Ultrasonic Motors (LSM) makes sure that subjects remain in focus no matter what aperture you choose. Additionally, it is compatible with Sony APS-C cameras where it provides a 127.5mm telephoto equivalent.
The 85mm f/1.4 consists of 11 Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) elements arranged in eight groups. The inclusion of High Refractive Index glass, as well as Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass keeps images sharp with minimal distortion, high sharpness, and well-controlled aberrations. Weighing 20 oz, it is on the lighter end of the 85mm f/1.4 for Sony spectrum, enhancing portability and extended shooting. Its aluminum body is weather sealed for protection against dust and water, making it ideal for work under under less than ideal environmental conditions.
