Featuring the highest-resolution sensor for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GX8 pairs a new 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor with a refined Venus Engine to enable in-camera 4K video recording at 30 and 24 fps, as well as high-resolution stills shooting. Full-resolution photos can be captured at 10 fps with AF-S, or 8MP stills can be shot at 30 fps, thanks to the trio of 4K Photo Modes.
The sensor and processor also avail a top sensitivity of ISO 25600 for working in difficult lighting conditions, which combines with in-camera sensor-shift image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake. Dual I.S. is also supported when working with Lumix O.I.S. lenses, and compensates for a broader range of movement types for sharp, clear imagery.
Carried over from its predecessor, the GX8 also sports the same distinct body design with a 90°, tilting, 2.36m-dot, OLED electronic viewfinder and a rear, 3.0", 1.04m-dot, vari-angle, OLED touchscreen. The body is constructed from magnesium alloy, with die-cast front and rear frames, and is sealed to guard against dust and moisture. Additionally, the GX8 also features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC for wireless image sharing and remote camera control from mobile devices.
